Blog writing tips for your new blog will help you establish yourself as an authority.

Blogs are an excellent way for anyone to get their ideas across to others and a perfect way for businesses to do some free advertising. Creating a fantastic blog can drive more traffic to your site and help those who visit to understand your subject.

When building your blog, there specific tips and techniques you will use to convey your opinion. A person should pay attention to when they are writing their blog.

  1. How to Write

Remember the person you are writing for and what they may need. When writing, always write with your mind to the reader.  When a reader is looking for information that may pertain to your idea, they want the information in a way that they can both read and understand easily.

Your reader’s time is valuable, and you need to respect that.

  1. Valuable and Worthwhile

With everyone’s life so busy, no one has time to waste reading a boring article. If you cannot think of anything creative to talk about, try to do an interview or even review a book. Anything will do as long as you are not posting useless content.

When someone reads your blog, you want them to feel that their time was well spent. When a reader finishes the article, they should wish there was more.

  1. Proofread

It would be best if you never published your article until you have spent the necessary time proofing it. It is natural to make mistakes when writing, but you can catch most of them by proofreading.  This tip may be the most important one.

Once you push the post button, you do not want to pull it back and make corrections.  You will see many articles out there that the author wished they had spent a little more time proofing.

Proofing is a way to respect your reader and keep your site free of errors and easy to read.

  1. Short and Simple

Keep your postings as short and straightforward as possible because it is human nature that people are scanners. Use titles that draw them into each point. Develop each point in as few words as possible. Make your point quickly; otherwise, risk losing your reader completely.

The bad side of short and simple is that google may give more credit to longer articles if they are well written. When writing, you have to balance it for the outcome.

  1. Lively

I want to emphasize the blog writing tip to keep it lively. Write to your readers, as you would talk to your friend or family member. It doesn’t hurt to get a little excited about your topic. The more lively your posts, the more snagged your readers will become. Make it seem like you are talking directly to them and only them. But be sure to make your point quickly. Attention spans are short.

  1. Links

Use links as often as you can. Links will help you create credibility and help establish you to the reader as an expert on the subject. You can also create a network by linking to other similar blogs. The other bloggers will thank you.

Use both internal and external links such as www.webopedia.com/TERM/L/link.htm to give an external explanation of the link.  You can also link to other posts that may have related material. An example of this is a link to my post about a marketing blog.

  1. Keywords

You may have noticed that I have used blog writing tips more than once. It is the main keyword in this article. I have also used tips and techniques as an additional keyword. Use your keywords as often as possible; it will allow you to stay on task, and the search engines will love it. The more keywords you use, the higher your rankings on the search engine your blog will appear.

  1. Write Clear

It would be best if you wrote your blogs in a way that the average person can understand. Regardless of your educational level, write so a 5th or 6th grader can understand. Many people read at this level.

Do not ever try to put more than one idea in a sentence this will confuse your readers. Make sure you use your commas as often as possible

  1. Headline

Make sure your headline is easy to understand and should have keywords relating to your blog in it.

If you follow these simple steps, you will have an excellent blog in no time with many readers.

In conclusion: Have fun writing and learn as you go.
